Academics

Prakruthi Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital (PAMCH) was established in 2016 to meet the increasing demand for Ayurveda education and to revive this ancient system of medicine.

Before Admission of the First Batch of Students, the College Shall Have:

  1. Hospital Infrastructure:

    • At the time of application submission, a fully developed hospital building must be in place as per Regulations 4 and 5.
    • A functional Ayurveda hospital must have been operational for at least two years prior to the application date.
    • The hospital must meet the required number of beds, bed occupancy, and outpatient department (OPD) attendance, corresponding to the annual student intake capacity as per sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 7.

  2. Faculty and Staff:

    • All teachers must have the requisite qualifications as per Regulation 8.
    • Non-teaching staff must be appointed as specified in Schedule VI.
    • In case of a shortfall of Professors, an equal number of Readers shall be appointed.
    • A minimum of one specialist doctor or clinical teacher must be appointed in each of the following departments:
      • Kayachikitsa
      • Panchakarma
      • Shalya
      • Shalakya
      • Prasuti evam Stri Roga
      • Kaumarbhritya
    • The experience of the specialist doctor or clinical teacher shall be considered from the date of appointment or two years before submission of the application, whichever is lesser.

  3. Library:

    • A collection of at least 2,500 books.
    • Seating capacity of:
      • 50 persons for up to 60 admissions.
      • 80 persons for 61 to 100 admissions.
    • Staff as specified in Schedule VI.

  4. Academic Infrastructure:

    • Two well-equipped and furnished lecture halls.
    • Teaching departments, laboratories, and museums essential for the first professional year, as per Schedules I to VII.

  5. Medicinal Plant Garden:

    • Minimum 2,500 square meters of land for up to 60 seats.
    • 4,000 square meters of land for 61 to 100 seats.
    • Plantation of at least 100 species of medicinal plants.

  6. Hospital Staff:

    • All staff must be appointed as per Schedule IV.

  7. Biometric Attendance System:

    • Mandatory web-based, CRC-linked computerized biometric attendance system for teaching staff.
    • Web-based computerized biometric attendance system for non-teaching and hospital staff.

Before Admission of the Second Batch of Students, the College Shall Have:

  1. Hospital Infrastructure:

    • A fully functional Ayurveda hospital with adequate beds, bed occupancy, and OPD attendance as per sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 7.

  2. Faculty and Staff:

    • All required teachers and non-teaching staff must be appointed for both the first and second professional years, as specified in Schedule VI.
    • If there is a shortfall of Professors, an equal number of Readers must be appointed.
    • A minimum of one specialist doctor or clinical teacher must be appointed in each of the following departments:
      • Kayachikitsa
      • Panchakarma
      • Shalya
      • Shalakya
      • Prasuti evam Stri Roga
      • Kaumarbhritya

  3. Library:

    • A collection of at least 5,000 books.
    • Seating capacity of:
      • 50 persons for up to 60 admissions.
      • 80 persons for 61 to 100 admissions.
    • Staff as per Schedule VI.

  4. Academic Infrastructure:

    • Three well-equipped and furnished lecture halls.
    • Teaching departments, laboratories, and museums essential for the first and second professional years, as per Schedules I to VII.

  5. Medicinal Plant Garden:

    • At least 150 species of medicinal plants.
    • A herbarium-cum-demonstration hall in the medicinal plant garden.

  6. Hospital Staff:

    • All staff must be appointed as per Schedule IV.

  7. Teaching Pharmacy & Laboratory:

    • A Teaching Pharmacy (Rasayanashala) and Quality Testing Laboratory must be attached to the Department of Rasashastra evam Bhaishajya Kalpana.
    • Minimum area and equipment must be as specified in Schedule II and Schedule VII.
    • Medicines must be prepared as per the syllabus requirements.

  8. Biometric Attendance System:

    • Mandatory web-based, CRC-linked computerized biometric attendance system for teaching staff.
    • Web-based computerized biometric attendance system for non-teaching and hospital staff.

Requirements for Admission of Students in a New Ayurveda College

Before the Admission of the Third Batch of Students, the College Shall Have:

  1. Functional Ayurveda Hospital

    • Appropriate number of beds, bed occupancy, and Out-Patient Department (OPD) attendance corresponding to the annual student intake capacity as per Regulation 7(2).

  2. Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff

    • All teachers with requisite qualifications as per Regulation 8.
    • Non-teaching staff as specified in Schedule-VI, required for the first, second, and third professional years of teaching and training.
    • In case of a shortfall of Professors, an equal number of Readers shall be appointed.

  3. Specialist Doctors

    • Minimum one specialist doctor or one clinical teacher in each of the following departments:
      • Kayachikitsa
      • Panchakarma
      • Shalya
      • Shalakya
      • Prasuti evam Stri Roga
      • Kaumarbhritya

  4. Library

    • Minimum 5,000 books.
    • Seating capacity:
      • 50 persons (for up to 60 admissions).
      • 80 persons (for 61–100 admissions).
    • Staff as per Schedule-VI.

  5. Lecture Halls and Teaching Infrastructure

    • Three well-equipped and furnished lecture halls.
    • Teaching departments, laboratories, and museums essential for the first, second, and third professional years as per Schedules I to VII.

  6. Medicinal Plants Garden

    • Minimum 150 species of medicinal plants.
    • Herbarium-cum-demonstration hall.

  7. Hospital Staff

    • As specified in Schedule-IV.

  8. Teaching Pharmacy and Quality Testing Laboratory

    • Attached to the Department of Rasashastra evam Bhaishajya Kalpana.
    • Minimum area as per Schedule-II.
    • Equipment as per Schedule-VII for the preparation of medicines as per syllabus.

  9. Biometric Attendance System

    • Web-based and CRC-linked (Central Registration Certificate issued by the Central Council) biometric attendance system for teaching staff.
    • Web-based computerized biometric attendance system for non-teaching college staff and hospital staff.

Before the Admission of the Fourth Batch of Students, the College Shall Have:

  1. Functional Ayurveda Hospital

    • Appropriate number of beds, bed occupancy, and OPD attendance as per Regulation 7(2).

  2. Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff

    • All teachers with requisite qualifications as per Regulation 8.
    • Non-teaching staff as per Schedule-VI for the first, second, third, and fourth professional years.

  3. Complete Infrastructure and Manpower

    • As per Regulations 4 to 11.

  4. Library

    • Minimum 7,500 books.
    • Seating capacity:
      • 50 persons (for up to 60 admissions).
      • 80 persons (for 61–100 admissions).
    • Staff as per Schedule-VI.

  5. Medicinal Plants Garden

    • Fully developed as per Schedule-III.

  6. Fully Functional Laboratories and Pharmacy

    • Drug testing facilities as per Schedules I to VII.

  7. Round-the-Clock Medical Services

    • Availability of:
      • Medicines
      • Paramedical staff
      • Doctors
      • Emergency management in the hospital

  8. Biometric Attendance System

    • Web-based and CRC-linked (Central Registration Certificate issued by the Central Council) biometric attendance system for teaching staff.
    • Web-based computerized biometric attendance system for non-teaching college staff and hospital staff.

Regulations for Establishing a New Ayurveda College

  1. Initial Permission and Renewal

    • Permission for a new medical college and student admissions is granted initially for one year.
    • Renewal is subject to verification of annual targets specified in sub-regulation (1).
    • The college must apply for renewal six months before the expiry of the initial permission.
    • This renewal process continues until the first batch of students has passed out.

  2. Mandatory Digital Systems for College and Hospital

    • Biometric Attendance System
      • Web-based and CRC-linked biometric attendance for teaching staff.
      • Web-based computerized biometric attendance for non-teaching and hospital staff.
    • Centralized Patient Records
      • Web-linked computerized central registration system for maintaining patient records in Out-Patient and In-Patient Departments.
    • These digital requirements are mandatory before the issuance of the Letter of Permission for the academic session 2016-17.
